Editor Lorraine Swerdloff reproduced 65 of the winning envelopes from 2003 through 2005 and also wrote a history of envelopes for this issue. Created by the Smithsonian Institution's National Postal Museum in 1995, the Graceful Envelope Contest is now administered by the Washington Calligraphers Guild.
