    Over two weekends we'll learn what makes an alphabet, then you will create a unique alphabet--either a cohesive alphabet OR an alphabet with a different style for each letter. Finally, you’ll display your alphabet in an elegantly designed accordion-fold book with an origami-type cover.

Programs begin at 7:30 pm ET but attendees are invited to log on at 7 pm for conversation.

All WCG members as well as registered nonmembers will receive a link to view the program's recording.

    Esther Inglis, a calligrapher and artist, was one of the most creative women in sixteenth and seventeenth-century Britain. Join us for a private tour of her gorgeous calligraphy featured in this exhibit and a talk led by scholar Dr. Georgianna Ziegler. Capacity is limited to 15.

    Pointed pen phenom Nina Tran will be teaching two workshops for us later this month, but in this 90-minute program she will guide us in dismantling the components of flourishes so we can learn how they work, and thus how to add flourishes to Copperplate capitals and build them up as desired.

    Black Hours--15th century personal prayer books written on parchment dyed black--became a passion for Tiarna Zupan due to one of her mentors in the Society for Creative Anachronism. In this free program, Tiarna will discuss the history of black Books of Hours and some ways they were created.
