Condition: Good – rare, now out-of-print

 

Describes the history of the great library founded at today’s Budapest by Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary (1458-1490), and presents its surviving volumes. The library, which contained one of Europe’s greatest collections of illuminated manuscripts, was dispersed during the period of the Turkish conquest.

Scanned from the original painting, proofed and printed in archival inks on watercolor paper by the artist, then signed and numbered.

 

The complete poem is written in white gouache on a watercolor background impression of Ullswater in the Lake District, England, where the daffodils inspired Wordsworth to write his much-loved poem.
